When I first discovered art journaling I was drawn in by Teesha Moore's artwork. The colors she uses are fun and I love how she alters images and magazine clippings. I decided to do a page inspired by her asthetic. I really enjoyed the project. I tried not to think too much as I worked. If something caught my eye, I would cut it out and place it onto the page in different places until I liked the way it looked. I finished with paint pens. One thing that I have really been working on this past year is finding my own "voice" or asthetic. I like doing pieces inspired by others, but I really want to find my own style. I know that if I keep working at it I will find my artistic voice.
I love this piece, and I wonder if this is one that begins to show your voice? I am primarily a writer, and know first hand the challenge of unfolding into one's own voice...and that voice changes and ripens and continues to shed for the continuing growth to appear in your work.
ReplyDeleteI love this piece. Beautiful!

I love colors on your journal page. Like how you tried not to think so much. I find when I overthink I don't like the final results. How funny that if I turn off my "brain" I find my art much more enjoyable and the end result more pleasing.
ReplyDeleteLovely page, I can't resist adding white dots a lot too, thanks so much for sharing, much love Jennibellie xx
